World Book Day

March 9, 2025 08:49pm

A jam packed day celebrating books and our love of reading!

Children had a busy day on Thursday taking part in a range of activities to celebrate books and their love of reading. KS2 children took part in a workshop by an author Rowan Foxwood and Year 6 were lucky enough to take part in writing workshops led by Rowan throughout the day as well. Across the school, children completed the Thinking Schools Academy Trust's We are One Event challenge to create a book character that would feature in their favourite book. Children also had the opportunity to listen to a story by a different member of staff and we had stories being read all across the school for children to choose from. Classes were also partnered up with their reading buddies to share their favourite stories with each other and it is always nice to see the older children sharing stories with our younger pupils. To finish a busy day, we were delighted to welcome parents and carers in to share stories with their children at the end of the day. Luckily, the sun was shining and it was great to see so many books being read across the school.
